Torx Monthly Wrap-Up – April

Posted on May 13, 2015

We’ve had a busy couple of weeks here at Torx! We hired an awesome new developer, signed some amazing clients, and wrapped up a few incredible projects as well. While the work has been keeping us busy, we’ve still made time for ping pong tournaments and weekly lunch outings, but nothing beats the feeling of creating great work for our clients. If you want to know what we’ve been working on this past month, check it out below:

Here are some of the projects that have been keeping us busy:

Virginia Blood Foundation is a local non-profit organization whose mission is to champion excellence in transfusion medicine. Their previous site hadn’t been updated in a few years, so they came to us for an upgrade. Their new website includes a forum for medical professionals, guidelines for grantseekers, and is responsive, so users can browse the site and post to the forum on the go.

A gamer haven, The Tech Exchange is the spot to get pre-owned video games, cell phones, iPods, tablets, DVDs, and more. If you’re located near either of their two locations (Richmond and Roanoke), you’ve got to make time to stop in, check out their selection, and play a round of arcade games. We’re very close to launching this site, which is responsive and showcases their strong social media presence right on the homepage.

Speaking of projects that are close to wrapping, we will be launching Carriage Solutions’ website any day now. We thoroughly enjoyed working on this project, and while we’ll miss working on it, we can’t wait for the finished product to go live. This website will provide truckers with a way to advertise their services to consumers. The site features an advertiser subscription plan, and a thorough search model for those seeking out truck services.

Virginia Supportive Housing, a wonderful local non-profit, is working on creating Richmond’s most interactive public art project ever. Their project, called Find Art Doors, is a collaborative campaign with another non-profit, Art on Wheels, that will encourage locals and visitors to get outside and explore the city by finding doors painted by local artists. Each door tells the story of a formerly homeless individual who now has housing, as well as information about the artists who painted the doors. Torx is creating the website for this event based on a design created by our friends over at 93 Octane; the website will feature an interactive map that helps users locate doors near them.

If you haven’t heard of Popcake, you need to check this company out. Popcake is the world’s first automatic pancake-making machine specifically designed for the commercial foodservice industry. The company is worldwide, so they have two websites: one for consumers everywhere, and one for North American consumers. We redid the former of the two recently, but their North American site needed an upgrade. The team at Torx will be redoing their North American site to look and function exactly like their international site with one twist – the North American site will have an online store, so anyone can order their own Popcake machine.

These are just a few of the many projects that we’ve been working on this past month. To stay informed about our latest work, check back each month to read our monthly business wrap-up. If you like what you see, contact us to find out what we can do for your business!
