We Rank the 2024 Super Bowl Commercials

I came away from this year’s Super Bowl a bit underwhelmed with the commercials. There were some standouts, but it felt like there were fewer memorable spots than I’ve seen in some previous years. And, I noticed that by the 3rd quarter, we were simply seeing replays of the spots that had aired during the first half of the game.

Aside from that, the State Farm commercial with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito was the best of what I saw. The cinematic nature of the spot was very well executed and there was plentiful humor throughout, especially when Arnold said, “Get me out of this chuppah!” Very well done, State Farm.

This REESE’S Cups ad has everything. Diving out windows, diving back in windows, flipping tables, a head through a grandfather clock, grandma giving the coffee table The People’s Elbow, and a hula-hooping dog. Who could ask for more? Mic drop.

I always enjoy seeing how a very simple concept can make for an effective and memorable advertisement. The idea that Uber Eats is “worth remembering” is simple, but their execution was creative and well, memorable!

In order to remember that Uber Eats can deliver almost anything for them, the people in the ad had to forget something else. You know, to make room. A simple, but clever idea which leads to some very amusing scenarios (no pants at work, forgetting how to sit in a chair, forgetting you have face tattoos, etc.). It also never hurts to have a star-studded cast like Jennifer Aniston and Victoria Beckham, among others. Check out the full length videos too, they are even more entertaining!

Gosh, there were so many epic commercials for this year’s Super Bowl (coming from someone who doesn’t have cable and, therefore, has no idea what is to be considered a “good” commercial), but my favorite has to be the Paramount+ Commercial.

It has all my favorites including Patrick Stewart, Drew Barrymore, Jeff Probst, and Peppa Pig. It was a beautiful tale depicting the struggles of trying to figure out their way over a mountain, literally, and how it will take perseverance, morals, and sacrifice—plainly, 10/10. Not to mention, Creed was the cherry on top of an already bomb ice cream sundae.

My favorite commercial this year goes to The DunKings! We got JLo! We got Ben! We got Matt Damon! I don’t care about Tom Brady lol, but this ad was great and so fun! And I love that it was a continuation of last year’s Dunkin’ spot.
