Gobble gobble!šŸ¦ƒLet's do the wobble!

Another year, another Thanksgiving. And boy! Are we feeling thankful.

We are so grateful for our amazing clients – for supporting us and choosing us. There are many wonderful marketing agencies in the area, but you picked us! We take our work very seriously, and showcasing our clients in the best light possible is our goal. We hope all our clients know how special each one of you is to us. We love working with all of you and hope to work with you for many years to come!

In absolutely no ranked order, I am thankful for the following:

1

Figma.

Iā€™m late to the game, but I FINALLY began using Figma in 2023 to design websites. Itā€™s a game-changer.

2

The death of Internet Explorer.

Oh, I know IE has been dead for a while now, but thatā€™s not stopping me from being thankful about it.

3

Spotify.

As someone who grew up purchasing cassettes, Spotifyā€™s seemingly endless music catalog still blows my mind.

4

Vehicle backup cameras.

My old-man neck is very thankful to no longer pirouette just to parallel park the family truckster.

5

Slack.

Oh, itā€™s way better than AOL Instant Messenger and ICQ.

6

Popeyeā€™s chicken sandwich.

Little Nicky ainā€™t wrong!

Itā€™s the little things in life.

Obviously, I am thankful for my wonderful husband and family who bring so much joy and love into my life. I feel truly blessed to have such amazing people to share my life with. However, in a time where we frequently take for granted the overabundance of having everything at our fingertips, it is good to appreciate the simplicities of life such as:

1

GPS navigation.

This has helped me find my way in unfamiliar places, and I would be literally lost without it.

2

Giphy.

I absolutely love Giphy! It’s my go-to when words just can’t express how I’m feeling. It always manages to make me smile and brighten up my day.

3

Dog treats.

These have been a lifesaver when it comes to training my French Bulldog. Without them, my dog would probably still be misbehaving!

4

Chickens.

Although I don’t currently own any chickens, it’s been a lifelong dream of mine to own one of those cluck boxes.

5

Bad hair days.

We all have those days when our hair just won’t cooperate. But you know what? It’s a good reminder not to take ourselves too seriously! Embrace the messy hair, and wear the knotty crown with pride! #HumbleQueen

This year, Iā€™m thankful to be able to travel back to Virginia to spend some quality time with family, friends and the Torx team. Iā€™m also extremely grateful that all of my family, friends and team are all healthy. This year has taught me to never take that for granted and to always be thankful for it.

As I am every year, Iā€™m thankful for all of our amazing clients and agency partners. We love the work we do for them and are so thankful to have such strong relationships with them all.

On a nerdier note, Iā€™m also currently very thankful for Cloudflare. It is becoming an increasingly important part of our hosting infrastructure and it has made a tremendous difference in our clientsā€™ website performance and security in recent months.

Lastly, Iā€™m thankful for a yard full of heavily producing fruit trees. I only wish I could bring some of the fruit with me to Virginia in December.

This year, Iā€™m grateful for all the experiences I was able to have in one ā€œshortā€ year. From trips to Boston, to Costa Rica, to several different beaches; Music festivals, camping, family visiting from South Africa ā€” itā€™s been a jam-packed year! But by far my biggest blessing this year is getting engaged to the love of my life.šŸ„°

A lot has happened professionally that Iā€™m thankful for, too! From welcoming Madde (and Mo) to the team, to a promotion, to oodles of client work ā€” thereā€™s a whole lot to be grateful for at Torx. Most of all, Iā€™m grateful for the wonderful people I get to work with, both internally at Torx and our lovely clients. Thanks for being the best!

And finally, Iā€™m grateful for nature and the joy and peace it brings me. And for the smell of dirt after I water my plants. IYKYK.

I canā€™t believe another year has (almost) come and gone. 2023 has been a good one! Iā€™m thankful for reaching the one-year mark of being married to my husband, Nathan, and all the quality time we have had together this year.Ā

Iā€™m thankful for my friends and family, of course, for keeping life fun and interesting! Iā€™m thankful for my sour patch of a cat, Abu – he keeps me on my toes.

And my life definitely wouldnā€™t be the same without Taco Bell, Spotify, caramel macchiatos, and oversized sweatshirts.

In all seriousness, Iā€™m blessed to have an awesome job, awesome bosses who support and encourage me, and awesome coworkers who make coming to work every day exciting! I look forward to our almost daily belly-laughing sessions, Sketchy-Mart walks, and the uncertainty of Hull Street. Now, letā€™s eat some mashed potatoes!
