Social Media News – Week of 5/25

Posted on May 28, 2015

Last week the world of social media erupted with changes. In case you missed it, check out our recap here. This week, things have calmed down a bit. To find out what’s new this week, read on.

Facebook

1. The next time you browse a restaurant’s Facebook page, you may see something new. The company will soon start featuring critic reviews of restaurants on said restaurant’s page. Right now, Facebook is only partnering with a few select news publications, but we wouldn’t be surprised if they expanded the list of qualified critics soon.

Twitter/Periscope

1. Periscope, the Twitter-owned live-streaming app, is now available on Android devices. Previously, the streaming app was only available on iOS devices. Considering how successful this app has been, we’re looking forward to the increase in content that this release will bring.

Instagram

1. Don’t have time to keep up with your Instagram feed? Never fear! Instagram will soon start sending “Highlights” – an email featuring the best posts from users that you follow.

That’s all we’ve got for this social media roundup. This week may have been slow for the world of social media, but these platforms are always changing, so be sure to check back in each week to read our social media news!
