Random Podcasts

SerialIf you haven’t heard of Serial, you clearly live under a rock (Jordan, as of last month, just climbed out from under that rock and gave it a listen). If you’ve heard about it, but didn’t know if it was worth the hype, believe us that it definitely is! There are two seasons, but if you only give one a chance, make it the first season.

Missing Maura MurrayIf you enjoy murder mysteries, and possibly need more after season one of Serial, this is a great option for you. It’s about the disappearance of a young woman in New Hampshire back in 2004, which still hasn’t been resolved.

Stuff You Should KnowThis podcast is a hodgepodge of random topics that the two creators decide they want to talk about. They do their research beforehand, but it’s not dry or boring because they add in humor and sometimes go off on random tangents to liven things up. You can listen to episodes about polar bears, or Monty Python, or Grimm’s Fairy Tales – they have all sorts of different topics to learn about.

Stuff You Missed In History ClassThis podcast is like Stuff You Should Know, but specific to history. Sometimes school history curriculums are told to cover the same limited bits of history, and the fun random stuff gets lost. This podcasts fills in the gaps you didn’t know you even had in your history knowledge.
