Meet Jonathan Miranda

My name is Jonathan Miranda, and I’m the new web developer at Torx Media.

About Jonathan | Early Life

I was born in San Francisco, California, but was raised in Colorado Springs, Colorado, where I later attended the University of Colorado – Colorado Springs. I graduated in December 2013 with a bachelor’s degree in geography and environmental studies with an emphasis in geographic information systems.

After college, I started interning at my church in their media department where I got my first exposure to WordPress and graphic design. Two years and two jobs later, I decided I wanted to be a developer, so I started following tutorials and coding during my lunches and weekends.

In October of 2018, my wife and I moved to the Richmond, Virginia, area to be closer to her family. I took the transition as an opportunity to take development from a hobby to a career.

Development

To me, development is the perfect blend of creativity and structure. I get to mix the artistic aspects of design with the technicality and rules of programming. The rapid pace of change in development is another aspect I enjoy. Boredom is out of the question when there’s always more to learn and so many great resources to learn from.  

I’m so excited and grateful to be on board at Torx and look forward to delivering beautiful and effective websites to our clients.

Hobbies & Interests

When I’m not building websites, I enjoy learning about the history in and around Richmond and exploring its neighborhoods. On weekends, you might also find me playing bass at my church, watching sports or researching whatever topic has captured my attention for the week.
